We are excited about a Middle School Dance team being added here at St. Alphonsus for the 2026-2027 school year.
We are thrilled to welcome Mrs. Rachel Harper as our team coach. While she is already a valued member of our campus as a middle school English teacher, she also brings extensive dance experience and a true passion for the art. Mrs. Harper has trained in ballet, pointe, modern, and jazz, and performed for 10 years in the Nutcracker Ballet. She holds a degree in dance from Northwestern University and was a member of the Demon Dazzler Precision Dance Line. In addition, she has been teaching dance since the age of 16 and currently teaches jazz, tap, and ballet at the Dance Center of Performing Arts. We are incredibly grateful to have her talents in our school community and are excited for the knowledge and skill she will share with our dancers.
As we begin building this program, we want to emphasize that we are looking for students with potential and a willingness to grow. While some dance background is helpful, students are not expected to perform every skill perfectly at tryouts. We are excited to help develop each dancer’s abilities throughout the season.
